Norbit

Okay so Norbit wasn’t that great, granted there were funny scenes but it lacked a lot. Story was boring acting was just okay as always Eddie Murphy playing different characters basically it was like The Nutty Professor. Overall i wouldn’t pay to see this movie, my advice either download it or wait until it comes out on DVD.

Apocalypto

by Reema on December 12, 2006

in Movies & Shows

Apocalypto was a painful and beautiful story that took place in the Mayan culture i was pleased to see all actors/actresses were Natives and spoken their native language that alone gave the movie a sense of originality. True the story didn’t concentrate on the Mayan culture it took place at that time but it dealt with the painful tragedy of an ancient Mayan warrior enslaved by the Aztecs after destroying his village. Since this was a Mel Gibson movie it had to be gory, bloody and violent not that i disagree but back in those days such events did happen. The visuals were very good even the costumes and Mayan tattoos were very original, I’ve also noticed there was more action and not enough dialogue in fact the body language spoke volumes, as far as historical accuracy well this is Hollywood so you’d expect it not to be accurate, overall was an enjoyable movie.

Casino Royale

by Reema on November 24, 2006

in Movies & Shows

I was hesitated to see Casino Royale but I’m glad i did. Daniel Craig was wonderful (and hot!) his character was so different then the previous Bonds I’m used to. He was more fierce, serious and driven with passion. The womanizer we were use to with the other Bonds was not present in this movie (thank God!) in fact he was a one woman man. The plot was realistic and to my surprise there wasn’t any high tech gadgets (maybe 1 or 2) unlike the older James Bond movie and i think that’s great. It was nice to see a bit romance, my favorites parts were the shower scene (no there wasn’t any sex :P). The tragic scene just before the end (don’t want to spoil it) I admit made me tear up and that never happened before in a James Bond movie. I’m happy to know that Daniel Craig is working on the next one can’t wait to see it!

(ah those eyes so mesmerizing *sigh*)

Borat

by Reema on November 21, 2006

in Movies & Shows

Some people found Borat to be offensive while others laughed their asses off personally i found it to be stupidly hilarious, granted it’s not like your average comedy movie but never the less it was funny. The part that made me laugh into tears and almost threw up was when the fat man’s balls were in Borat’s face! (sorry for the spoiler i couldn’t help it LOOOOOL). I must say that Sacha Baron Cohen sure had guts making this movie no wonder it’s a success people were literally screaming with laughter, overall If you’re depressed or having a bad day then go see this movie trust me you won’t regret it 😆
